HDF5 Tutorial

This tutorial does NOT include the software needed to compile the examples. Please read the Introduction under Introductory Topics (below) for details on how to obtain HDF5 and compile applications.

Also, be aware that we are in the process of modifying the tutorial and examples to include support for HDF5 1.8. If the version is not specified for an example, then assume that it was built and tested with HDF5 1.6.

Please note that the 1.6 examples can be built with the 1.8 library by using the -D H5_USE_16_API option (unless your HDF5 1.8 library was configured with the --disable-deprecated-symbols option).
