The HDF 1.14.4 release is now available from the HDF5 1.14.4 download page.
This is a maintenance release with several nice improvements and additions:
- Added support for the _Float16 16-bit floating-point datatype to allow for more efficient storage and improved performance.
- Improved performance when converting datatypes.
- Cloud-optimized HDF5 changes and improvements including some changes for page buffering and support for temporary credentials with the read-only S3 VFD.
- Build system changes, fixes for CVE issues (HDF5 is still CVE-free!), and many other improvements and bug fixes.
Please see the full release notes for detailed information regarding this release.
We maintain a release schedule in the README on Github. As always, feel free to post on the forum with any questions.
Do you already have a calendar for the next releases?
This blog was useful back at that time: https://www.hdfgroup.org/2022/06/2022-hdf5-release-schedule/
Thanks
